Muslim Mental Health

I am (unapologetically) a proud British Muslim. I have been fortunate to collaborate and work closely with University Islamic Societies throughout the UK and Ireland having helped them to design, develop and deliver many events on Muslim mental health.

I have given Keynote Lectures at the Federation of Student Islamic Societies (FOSIS) national mental health conferences in Dublin, Glasgow, Birmingham and Bradford. I am the Principal Investigator for the first ever intervention studies challenging mental health related stigma in the Muslim community. I have also delivered oral presentations on Muslim mental health at the Islamic Psychology Conference in Los Angeles and at the Annual Muslim Mental Health Conference in Washington D.C.

In 2019, I was co-organizer of the Inaugural Global Muslim mental health conference at Clare College in Cambridge University, a collaboration between Michigan State University and the Centre for mental health research in association with Cambridge University.
